Oct. 4 — Hampshire College is one of few colleges to include students as voting members of its Board of Trustees’ committees.
These student positions are elected, and following a self-nomination process and subsequent student election, two of those positions have been filled for the next year.
Haleema Sadia, F21, has been elected to the student position on the Outreach and Advancement Committee, which concerns itself with fundraising, communications, and marketing for the college. This position was previously held by Austin Schacht-Purrington, F23.
Zeynep Yurekli, F21, has been elected to the student position on the Student Experience Committee, which oversees and plans policies that ensure a healthy and enjoyable college experience for students. This position was previously held by Phoebe Chen, F22.
