Per the latest data from the CDC at the time of publishing, the Wastewater Viral Activity Level in Massachusetts is High, which is down from two weeks ago when it was Very High, and it continues to trend down. According to the CDC’s predictive model, cases are declining in Massachusetts.
However, another wave is likely in mid-October, and may have already begun. This is corroborated by the Pandemic Mitigation Collaborative. Every year since the beginning of the pandemic experienced a winter wave starting in mid-October after a brief lull.
According to the CDC’s Nowcast model, the dominant variant is the Omicron-descended KP3.1.1 at 57.2%. This is a new data source from previous Weather Reports.
Pfizer vaccines are available through Hampshire Health Services, although you must call ahead for an appointment and they are only available on Tuesday. Schedule an appointment at (413) 559-5458.
