I am an alum who lives locally and came across The Leapfrog during Family and Friends Weekend last fall. I am impressed by the paper, and like the connection between Hampshire and Frogs.
The Hampshire College Alumni of Western MA, aka Local Frogs, were super active way back in 2019, both in-person and virtually; we supported groups including Hamp Rise Up and alum fundraising groups to help save Hampshire. Recently, I made a website for people who want to connect around possible projects for Hampshire: FrogCollabs.org
I recently learned that the newspaper founder and some students who contributed to student government are transfers from New College. My idea is to have a Zoom meeting for New College alumni with transfer students updating them on your experience at Hampshire.
I understand that Hampshire’s Alumni and Family Relations has already talked to some New College Alumni, invited them to an on-campus event, and opened up membership in Hampshire Network to New College alumni. The zoom idea would build on this by reaching a wider group, faster. I wouldn’t mind helping to organize this if there is interest.
