Feb. 28 — Featuring a graduating frog ringing the Division Free Bell, a surrounding party of graduating frogs tossing their caps in the air, and a rendering of the Holyoke Range that surrounds the campus, all on a Hampshire-Teal background, the 2025 Commencement Poster is the work of Katherine Brown, F23, the winner of the commencement poster contest.
Brown told Leapfrog they set out with the frog mascot ringing the bell as the centerpiece of the design, but the rest came after she started drawing.
“I decided to make the background teal, like the Hampshire H logo, but use that logo with rainbow colors as a background pattern as well,” Brown said, also noting that they incorporated the rainbow colors into the graduation caps on the surrounding frogs.
Brown is a Div III non-traditional student studying Fine Art and Communication with a certificate in Arts Management from UMass Amherst. Brown transferred from community college, taking five years off before returning to undergraduate school at Hampshire. She told Leapfrog she’s “very grateful for how welcoming and accepting the Hampshire community has been and how much [she has] learned here.”
The 2025 Commencement Ceremony is on May 17.
